About Us
A youth-led movement for climate resilience in The Gambia.
Clean Earth Gambia is a leading youth-led environmental organisation dedicated to advancing climate resilience, environmental protection, and community empowerment across The Gambia. Since its founding, the organisation has focused on building the capacity of communities, strengthening climate education, and driving grassroots action to address the country's urgent ecological challenges.
To date, Clean Earth Gambia has impacted and trained more than 30,000 Gambians in climate and environmental protection through our capacity-building and empowerment programs. As part of our restoration efforts, we have planted more than 45,000 trees across the country, especially in schools and local communities, including 14,000 coconut trees planted in partnership with Future Proof under the Banjul City Council in 2020 and 2021. This initiative responded to Banjul's extreme vulnerability to sea-level rise and coastal erosion.
Through our eco-clubs, greening initiatives, climate advocacy training, the She-Climate Fellowship, and other community programmes, we have reached and positively impacted more than 55,000 people, primarily students, young people, women, and girls.
Clean Earth Gambia also led the regional and national consultations for the first-ever Climate Landscape Analysis for Children in The Gambia, in partnership with UNICEF, ensuring that children's unique vulnerabilities and perspectives are central to national climate planning and action.
In 2025, our founder was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in the sustainability category for our climate advocacy impact.
