Our founder was appointed by the United Nations Secretary General as one of seven Youth Climate Advisors to the UN Secretary General to provide advice and policy recommendations to António Guterres on key climate decisions.
Role
As a member of the UN Secretary General's Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change, the role involved providing direct counsel to the Secretary General, engaging with senior UN leadership and member states, and channelling perspectives from frontline communities into high-level climate negotiations.
Impact
This appointment elevated youth leadership in global climate governance and amplified voices from the Global South, particularly from African coastal communities, in international climate policy discussions across forums including COP28 and the UN General Assembly.
